Blue Barn, Marin County, California

Blue Barn is one of my favorite restaurants in foggy Northern California. This delicious lunch spot is located about 20 minutes from San Francisco but, there are other locations throughout Northern California. At this rustic cafe you can order anything from amazing salads to delicious sandwiches. At this restaurant you can create your own salad or order one off their long extensive menu. The restaurant itself is a casual quaint location with "choose your own seating" and you order at the register. If you plan on eating there during lunch time, or around 12 to 2, I recommend getting their little before you plan on eating because their tends to be a long line.

I have tried several things on their menu but in this picture I choose to make my own salad. My go-to salad base is romain because it has a nice crunchy texture as well as a refreshing clean flavor that does not overpower the flavors or toppings I like to add on to my salad. At Blue Barn, they have grilled tofu which is some of the best tofu I have ever had. The tofu has a nice light texture and is cooked to perfection. If you ever have the chance to go there, I highly recommend getting the tofu on top of your salad as it is one my must have toppings. I also always add croutons on top of my salad, the croutons at this spot are crunchy and have a nice garlic flavor. The cucumbers add a nice refreshing crunch on top as well as the onions. For dressing, I got their garlic Caesar which is one of my favorite dressings at Blue Barn because it is creamy, smooth and has a little bit of a garlic flavor. I also I added shaved parmesan because a little cheese never hurt anybody. Blue Barn is a definitely a must stop destination if you ever find yourself in the Bay Area.
