Dizengoff, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Updated: Aug 19, 2021

Dizengoff is an Israeli restaurant located in the heart of Philadelphia. Created by the owner of the famous restaurant Zahav, Michael Solomonov this restaurant is a take on Israeli fast food. Although this restaurant serves very few items - only selling hummus, pita and Israeli salad - don't be too quick to judge a restaurant by the size of its menu - Dizengoff serves some of the best hummus I've ever had in my life! I ordered the veggie hummus, which is a hummus base with roasted peppers on top.

The hummus was warm, creamy, smooth and very flavorful. The peppers were cooked to perfection and complimented the salty flavor of the hummus very nicely.

The hummus also had crushed nuts on top that gave it a nice crunch on top of the smooth dip. Along with the hummus I had some delicious, dense pita. The pita was warm, soft, and thick and was a nice "spoon" for the hummus. The hummus and pita also came with some Israeli salad which was divine! The salad had cucumber, onion and tomato. All the vegetables were cut into small pieces and had a great tart flavor that went really nicely with the salty hummus. As if the meal couldn't get any better the service was amazing! I got my food almost immediately after ordering and the ordering station felt COVID safe with plexiglass and all the employees were masked. I would overall rate my experience at Dizengoff a 9.1/10 and would recommend

going there on your next trip to Philly!
