Liv Bakery, Millburn, New Jersey

Liv Bakery has a location in Millburn and one in the Short Hills Mall. On a trip to the mall, my dad and I decided to get lunch from there to go and when I say my lunch was one of the best things I’ve ever eaten I truly mean that it was one of the best things I have ever eaten. I got a croissant with smoked salmon, onion, capers, dill, cream cheese, and cucumber. This is

not something I would usually order but it looked absolutely divine on display so I thought I would try it. The croissant was slightly crunchy on the outside but light and fluffy on the side and had the perfect light, and buttery flavor. It was the perfect texture for a sandwich

because it was not difficult to eat and did not make a mess which was something I was a little worried about when I ordered this. There was also the perfect amount of filling, there was not an overwhelming amount of any of the fillings so you got a little bit of everything in each bite. I also tasted the babka and a chocolate chip cookie from there and both were exquisite. The babka was buttery, soft and moist - one of the best bites of babka I’ve ever had. The cookie was not cakey which is how I usually like my chocolate chip cookies but it was salty and sweet which is the perfect balance. They also have a selection of focaccia pizza style options, coffee, and a Vegan cauliflower sandwich. The service was also quite good at the Short Hills Mall location, I got my food in a timely manner and it was a short wait. I will note, however, that I did not go during the morning time when I expect it is probably busier. The only downside to this bakery is that it was a little pricey with the sandwich costing $10, the babka costing $17 and the cookie costing $4. I would give this bakery an overall rating of 9.3/10 because the food was absolutely delicious, service was great, but it was a little pricey.
