Ramen Stop, Princeton, New Jersey

Ramen Stop is a relatively new Ramen place located on the famous Nassau St. in Princeton, New Jersey. How I decided to try this place out is kind of funny. I was at work one night and saw through the window a couple people eating ramen out of these nicely packaged black bowls and when I found out they were eating from Ramen Stop I decided to order from there the next night! Let me say, my instincts led me right because Ramen Stop is hands down my absolute new favorite Ramen place in Princeton! Not only do they have a bunch of vegan options, but they also have great service and a tasty and wide selection of options. I have tried both their impossible ramen and the miso tofu ramen. The impossible ramen is your standard miso broth with ramen noodles, mushroom, cabbage and ground impossible

meat on top. I am usually not a huge fan of impossible meat because. to be honest, I think it is a little suspicious, but this ramen was actually quite good. The impossible meat was seasoned well so I was not left with that funky aftertaste that impossible meat usually has. Although, I do think it would have been better if they used a meat substitute that was cut rather than ground because the ground meat was a bit of an obstacle to eat. The broth was excellent. The miso base was extremely flavorful but I would not recommend it if you are on a low sodium diet. The soup also had tender and thinly cut mushrooms and cabbage on top which was a nice, refreshing, and tasty addition! I also tried their vegan tofu ramen, but I added an egg on top so I guess there goes the vegan title. The tofu was nice, tender, and filing. I would recommend the tofu soup over the impossible ramen. I thought the tofu ramen just felt a little cleaner if that makes sense? I guess I am just not totally comfortable with impossible meat - it does seem a little suspicious doesn’t it? The egg atop the tofu ramen was also egg-celent (see what I did there?). The egg was extremely

flavorful, tasting as though it was cooked directly in the miso broth? The addition of an egg was an extra dollar but that was completely worth the extra cost! Ramen Stop also had impossible meat steamed buns which were pretty good! They could have used a nice sauce on top of the meat to make it slide down just a little better and mask the impossible meat taste a little more but other than that they were a nice alternative to the classic meat filled steamed buns. However, I would recommend sticking to the ramen at this must stop location. The service was also incredible. The first I ordered from Ramen Stop I ordered from my phone for pickup and it was adequate service - my food was ready after a slight wait but other than that no problems. But, I then ordered Doordash from there one afternoon and when I say it was the fastest Doordash delivery I have ever had in my life, I really mean it (and I order from Doordash a lot)! I ordered the meal and it was at my house, steaming hot and ready to eat, in literally 10 minutes!!!! Now I am not sure if that is just that I had a good driver to pick up my food, or if the restaurant is just really speedy but that is what I consider a Doordash miracle! Also, I mentioned this earlier but I would just like to reiterate that the packaging at Ramen Stop is immaculate, some of the best to-go packaging I have ever seen - sleek black soup containers with the Ramen Stop logo. Ramen Stop does not really have any dining accommodations now so it is definitely a to-go spot but that also means that they are super COVID safe so no worries going to this restaurant! Anyways, my overall rating of Ramen Stop is a solid 8.7/10. If you are in the Princeton area and want ramen this is where you are going!
